Humanities research in the humanities requires a different kind of thesis structure. There is no predetermined structure for the body of theses whether it is theory, historical studies, legal analysis, philosophical arguments, interpretations or literary or other artistic works, but the structure is determined by the arguments and studies that are underpinned in successive chapters. The theoretical framework of this approach is made clear at the beginning of each thesis, in the introduction, and in the early chapters, and the arguments that have meaning and significance are spread across the whole to arrive at the conclusion. You do not have to write your dissertation in the same order as the chapters appearing in the sketch. Research literature may be dealt with in separate chapters of the dissertation.
