REVIVAL OF THE UPPER PART OF THE FACE www.medikrebsusa.comban site

There has always been, within a group, a class or a micro-society, those who at 35 still look like a boy and those who look almost like a pensioner. But it's not just about attitudes or ways of posing and dressing. The question is more complex and concerns the biological aging of the organism which occurs at a different rate for each of us. For women, the problem of aging manifests itself brazenly above all at the level of the upper part of the face and fighting the aging process of the face represents above all for them a desire and an attempt that has very distant origins, in the history of human beings. Impossible not to be fascinated by the elaborate make-up of the women (and men) of Ancient Egypt: the archaeological finds show the use of vivid, bright colors, so vivid and beautiful as to be the envy of the best cosmetic houses today and which had to be able to cover imperfections giving the face a unique, well-groomed and young look. Skin aging is a process linked to physiological alterations caused by many and different situations: the progressive decrease in skin hydration, the appearance of the first micro-wrinkles, a reduction in elasticity, hyperkeratosis and the appearance of hyper-pigmented spots (or age spots). Unfortunately, there is a chronological aging linked to genetic factors that usually begins after the age of 25, to manifest itself more clearly after the age of 40. In this phase the proliferative capacity of the epidermal cells begins to decrease which, consequently, begins to thin. The number and activity of melanocytes, that is the cells responsible for producing melanin, are reduced, therefore skin sensitivity to sun exposure increases significantly and the danger of burns with actinic damage is much higher. The number and functionality of fibroblasts also undergoes a severe blow so the tone and elasticity of the skin decrease, as do the hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin naturally present in the dermis. But there is also aging due to environmental factors and lifestyle: prolonged exposure to sunlight can accelerate the photo-aging process (or photo-aging) and air pollution can attack the skin, reducing its oxygenation. as well as cigarette smoking. In these situations, skin hyper-pigmentation is very likely to occur, which can begin with the appearance of freckles which can subsequently evolve into real age spots. The appearance of wrinkles is seen by women, and increasingly also by men, as the beginning of the aging process, but in reality, there are expression lines defined as " dynamic " which are the result of our facial expressions and can manifest themselves even before the age of 25 because determined by the expressive habits that each of us has, often by abnormal and involuntary muscle contractions. Unlike the latter, there are wrinkles due to age, so-called " static ", which are instead closely linked to the passage of time and physiologically appear after the age of 30, when the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin begins to decrease. The face as a whole and the gaze in particular, are for every woman and man a very important tool of relationship and connection with other people in every sphere, from the working one with colleagues and interlocutors, to the private one, with friends or with the partners. Today, all those who choose to turn to plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine to improve the upper part of the face want a rejuvenated face or look, but without losing its harmony. A good plastic surgeon must always try to obtain a natural, long-lasting, non-invasive rejuvenation capable of bringing freshness without distorting the physiognomy of the face. The upper blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgery that takes place when the skin in the upper area of the eye is in excess, going to cover the eyelid saddening especially on the lateral margin of the gaze. The surgery can be performed either under local anesthesia (with or without sedation). In upper blepharoplasty the excess skin to be removed is evaluated and drawn. The incision will be hidden in the natural crease of the eyelid. In lower blepharoplasty, useful for example for the removal of bags, but not only, the incision is made about 2 mm from the rim of the lower eyelid. The excess adipose tissue is redistributed in the various anatomical compartments and if necessary the excess skin is removed, restoring freshness and naturalness to the eye. In both cases the skin will be sutured with a very thin suture and the post-operative will leave no scar. Edema and ecchymosis vary from patient to patient and can be of mild or medium intensity and disappear between the fifth and tenth day. The botulinum toxin instead is shown to eliminate wrinkles present mainly at the level of the upper third of the face. It is a substance produced by the Clostridium Botulinum bacterium, which injected into the muscles causes a reduction in contractile activity at the level of the mimic muscles of the face (at the same time as the small dose designed for this type of treatment and obviously targeted according to the result to be obtained), thus reducing wrinkles. expression caused by the contraction of the muscles in question and giving the face an exceptionally fresher and younger appearance. The application of botulinum toxin must be carried out by experienced professionals in fact it is necessary to have an excellent knowledge of the anatomy of the mimic muscles to inject the product in order to favor a " lifting effect ". The treatment is carried out without any anesthesia and is practically painless. Patients are often dissatisfied with their appearance and would like to improve, but they don't know what to do. Still others are curious or are not too convinced, but feel almost obliged to undergo some treatment. It is necessary to be very clear and never promise miracles: a true professional must also behave as a psychologist and evaluate that the patient's expectations are not excessive and, above all, that they do not concern personal spheres in which aesthetic retouching can do very little. The face is the image of the soul in which the eyes are its interpreters and only a harmony made of balance, proportions and naturalness can give the look and the face itself a better and fresher aspect, the undisputed protagonist of safety. and also, pleasantness towards oneself.
