A cosigner takes full responsibility for a debt, and is obligated to pay it if the borrower misses a payment or fails to repay the Refinance Student Loans in full. If the lender decides to report any problem to the credit bureaus, it will be reflected on the cosigner’s credit reports and can stay on their reports for seven years.
