Lunesta is a non-benzodiazepine sedative-hypnotic primarily used for the treatment of insomnia. It is taken orally, usually right before bedtime. It should be swallowed with water and not crushed or chewed. Lunesta should not be taken with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants, as it can increase the risk of respiratory depression and excessive sedation.
