Halcion is approved for the treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. It is intended for short-term use, usually no longer than 7 to 10 days. The typical starting dose of Halcion for adults is 0.25 mg, taken before bedtime. The dose may be adjusted based on individual response, but it is generally not recommended to exceed 0.5 mg per day.
