Percocet is a prescription medication used for treating moderate to severe pain. It is a combination of two elements, acetaminophen and oxycodone. The opioid substance, i.e., oxycodone, works to block the pain signals from being processed. The non-opioid and less potent pain reliever, acetaminophen, enhances the effects of oxycodone.
