Heavy-duty cargo refers to the global transportation of bulky, heavy, and high-value equipment and parts designed for a given project. It is also called a heavy lift and includes shipments of various components that need disassembly for shipment and reassembly following a delivery. Generally, this cargo type cannot be loaded on the existing 20’,40’, 40’HC, or even the 45HC flat rack or an open-top container. For this particular reason, it is referred to as project cargo. In other words, as a result of its weight or size, the cargo cannot be taken by a standard container. In such cases, it has to be transported as a bulk load.
