In some cases, even just thinking about getting through the day can trigger an anxiety attack. This excessive worry can cause certain physical symptoms and can interfere with daily life. Occasional taking stress about health, money, relationships, and other things is natural and a normal part of life. But for people with a generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), these worries become all-consuming. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) report, GAD or Generalized Anxiety Disorder affects 2.7 percent of the U.S. adult population in any given year.
