Reductil is prescribed for an obese person who has BMI (Body Mass Index) > 30. It is also prescribed to the overweight person who has a BMI>27 and is at a high risk to become obese. The prescribed starting dose of Sibutramine is 10 mg per day. If the weight loss rate is low, a 15 mg dose is recommended after 4-6 weeks.
