A Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) is a postgraduate programme that is required for admission to 259 dental colleges in India's 6377 MDS courses. Dental Council of India (DCI) controls admission to MDS courses and colleges. Graduates of BDS programs who want to pursue post-graduation studies in tooth development, anatomy, and diseases can choose MDS. A postgraduate diploma allows candidates to complete the three-year M.D.S. program in two years instead of the usual three. Aspirants can develop their critical analysis, research, and advanced clinical skills through MDS.
