The Art Of Making Walking Cane dynamome.comban site

What gave you the interest and desire to start wood carving and how long have you been doing this I really we might make her give me the interest because I was always interested in working with wood and I've done many projects working with wood when I was small articles 10 years old my parents gave me a wood burning set so that started me and wood burner and I still have everything that they gave me and my car burned several things out and then I went camping and a guy who was carving the dynamo walking canes out of Diamond Willow and so I said I want to do that so I carved a stick on the diamond we'll have to stick over here about 40 years ago so that started me into doing sticks in it some kings okay this here is a piece of diamond Whittle okay and what happens in certain places in the United States the willow tree gets a disease that have forms these diamonds now this is a raw piece this is how I buy it okay. This is a diamond little king that is finished this is how it looks when it's finished that's what I made about 50 years ago 40 years ago something like that any of this here are they cut a bunch of trees down on the golf course and we salvaged wood and this is this is a manzanita of some kind I never seen it that straight but anyhow this is going to be we'd mark and then this is a beaver cut and then I carved anemias he at the end this is all the states of this vignette and this is my sippy Pole okay and I traded it instead of a girl for this stick and she was a tough deal if she knew I wanted that walking stick so I had this fall was that Monica Ron had this long pair of beads you put him around the neck and he touched the ground right and that's what she wanted I didn't want to give up them beads with little home as I yet but guess what she's got the beads and I got to stick and remove it and where do you do most of your work I give you a little history on it I am a docent ft Adobe 150 year old Adobe and we have a every year we have the Adobe days and yeah this is the wood carpets used to show off and I talked with them and I brought my sticks out showed them to me and they invited me to join their club I do a four hours a week wood carving at the club but most of my work is done in my garage for I have a full set of tools and I have a rule don't borrow a tool if you need it mind so I love tools so i okay we're good by the way this pencil bunk is made out of all all scrap there's nothing here that our board except this piece right here I bought because it's soft plastic and I hold your feet real nice alright so we're going to do we're going to proceed. Here these are foot peels release it the push it to tighten it down and you take you throw a knife you do it the right way that's another tricky here and then you just start going off the mark and this this pictures off about 10 times faster than any recent Turner plans do you have plans to sell your finished work I would like a new scooter and this new scooter is $1,800 and my wife don't think I need it because I already have two so I have to make some money to buy this scooter that don't come out of the family coffins mostly the way I market my product is I'll take a king and I'll walk into the bank and the bank rule says oh I like your king where did you buy that and all I said I didn't buy it I made it and she's immediately interested i sold so two kings at to people that work at Walmart I have a king going to Canada know this walking stick going to Canada which is gonna help along with the purchase of that new scooter and it's going to be a real nice king or a walking stick.
