ADCC, or antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity, is a crucial immune system function for antibodies. Antibodies with ADCC enhancement have been demonstrated to have anti-cancer properties in vivo. The goal of current research is to develop therapeutic antibodies by improving their affinity to FcR and so enhancing the ADCC mechanism. The ADCC is thought to be the new milestone because it is an intrinsic immune defense mechanism and has recently shown to be highly adjustable weapons for us to fight against cancer!
