Karthik, who began his IPL career at Delhi Daredevils (presently Delhi Capitals), is part of a select team of seven players to have highlighted in each time of the IPL since the BCCI sent off the tournament in 2008, alongside MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Wriddhiman Saha and Manish Pandey. Karthik has missed only two matches in 16 seasons.
