Malachite Green and Crystal Violet Residue Testing Service www.alfachemic.comban site
Malachite green (MG) and crystal violet (CV) are synthetic basic industrial dyes of triphenylmethane. In the past, many countries used MG and CV as insecticides and fungicides to be widely used in aquaculture to kill ectoparasites and mold in fish eggs. Later scientific research found that malachite green and leuco malachite green remain in aquatic products and the environment for a long time. The MG and CV chemical functional groups "triphenylmethane" have been confirmed to have high toxicity, high residue, carcinogenic, teratogenic, mutagenic and other side effects. In addition, the discharge of wastewater containing malachite green and crystal violet will pollute the water environment. Therefore, the United States, Canada, Japan, Europe and the United States and other countries or organizations have listed it as a banned drug for aquaculture.

After entering aquatic animals, MG and CV are rapidly metabolized into fat-soluble leuco malachite green (LMG) and leuco crystal violet (LCV), and accumulate in tissues. Therefore, the main residues detected in aquatic products are LMG and LCV. The two metabolites are similar to MG and CV and also contain trityl groups. Due to the good fat solubility and long residual time in animal tissues, LMG and LCV are more harmful to the human body. When detecting MG and CV, LMG and LCV should be tested at the same time to more accurately reflect the drug residue. European Union Act 2002/675/EC stipulates that the total amount of malachite green and colorless malachite green residues in animal-derived foods is limited to 2 μg/kg.
In order to protect the health of consumers and comply with food import and export inspections, Alfa Chemistry has developed rapid detection technologies suitable for malachite green, crystal violet and their metabolites residue testing service for manufacturers, enterprises, and government organizations. We strictly abide by the quality assurance/quality control plans and regulatory requirements of each country and region to provide you with support.
