The Cannes Yachting Festival has been held every September since 1977 in the sparkling Bay of Cannes. It is the first boat show in the sailing season and Europe’s biggest in-water event. It brings together those involved in leisure boating; presenting their new products for the first time. There are typically over 600 boats on show from over 500 exhibitors, across 10km of berths in the two ports of Cannes; port Canto and the Vieux-Port.

Every year on the first weekend of August, the annual Jasmine Festival – Fête du Jasmin – takes place in the beautiful medieval town of Grasse. Enjoy dances, music, concerts, exhibitions, processions and fireworks. All in honour of the city's gold – the perfume.

The Festival d'Aix-en-Provence is an annual international music festival which takes place each summer in Aix-en-Provence, principally in July. Devoted mainly to opera, it also includes concerts of orchestral, chamber, vocal and solo instrumental music.

Pétanque, or boules as it is more commonly known abroad, is a Provençal institution and can be played on just about any dusty, gritty surface, at all times of the year. For two days in June, La Bouleheureuse ("the Happy Ball") in Fayence/Tourrettes hosts the annual Regionals for this part of France; which also attracts many of the world's best players.

Every year in October, the city of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins celebrate the Harvest Festival with a Wine & Gastronomy fair. Over 70 producers from the locality and from all over France offer their wine, cheeses, chocolate, liqueurs, pastries, and various delicatessen to the public.

Winemakers, merchants, guilds, and lovers of fine wine gather in Avignon (in November) to celebrate the arrival of the new vintage of the Rhône valley; among the oldest winemaking regions in the country. Millévin is a festival of good food and excellent wine.

The summer season may be coming to an end, but the party and good humour is alive and well in Grasse, where they celebrate an Oktoberfest Beer Festival; celebrating the relationship with their twin town of Ingolstadt in Germany.

Every summer Arles in the Bouches-du-Rhône hosts an international photography festival. This beautiful Provençal town (and site of famous roman antiquities) transforms shop spaces, chapels, heritage sites, and pretty much everything it can, into exhibition spaces for photography.

Since 2018, this eco-friendly, festive, and family-oriented Music Festival has been growing in popularity. Held over two days, it's essentially a roots festival; so lots of rocksteady, dub, ska, reggae, and tropical house music. If you like Bob Marley (and who doesn't frankly) then you are going to love this!
